Agreement and Privacy Policy
(1) 42 MINI-LECTURES ON GRAMMAR
TUITION
The client will pay tuition fees once for the term of one year for the following
activities at WritingCare.com: watching the video lectures, reading all the written
lectures, and taking each quiz three times.
REGISTRATION
The client can register for annual access to the 42 Mini-Lectures on Grammar; registration
includes access to all the video lectures, written lectures, and quizzes for a period
of one year.
CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
If the client cancels the registration for 42 Mini-Lectures on Grammar before a
period of one week has elapsed, the entirety of the tuition will be reimbursed to
the client. The client cannot cancel the registration after the term has elapsed
more than a week.
(2) ONE-ON-ONE WRITING TUTORING
Each "term" in the one-on-one writing tutoring program consists of four weeks (not
one month). The "client" is the registered student and/or the parent(s) of the registered
student. The "administration" is WritingCare.com's administration. The "due date"
of tuition payment is 5 business days before the new term begins.
TUITION
The client will pay tuition fees for the following term by the due date. The payment
of tuition will be automatically processed by the due date of every term through
the credit card account submitted by the client at registration, unless the client
notifies the administration of his or her intention to terminate the registration
at least 5 business days before the new term begins.
REGISTRATION
The client can register for the SAT-Essay Private Tutoring or General Writing Tutoring
program and extend the registration term by term. The tuition fees for each new
term will be charged to the client's credit card account on the due date, unless
the client notifies the administration of the client's intention not to extend the
registration to the new term at least 5 business days before the new term begins.
TERMINATION AND CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION
If the client cancels registration before the term begins, the total amount of tuition
fees will be reimbursed to the client. If the client terminates registration of
a term during the first week of the term, 75% of the tuition fees will be reimbursed
to the client. The client cannot terminate registration of a term if the term has
elapsed more than a week.
LENGTH OF WRITINGCARE TUTORING PROGRAM
One four-week term is the smallest unit of registration. The number of terms is
tailored by the client according to his or her needs. The client can remain in the
WritingCare Tutoring program for as many terms as he or she wants or needs. Partial
terms are not possible.
TUTOR ASSIGNMENT
The client is assigned to one of WritingCare.com's Harvard-educated tutors, and
remains assigned to the same tutor for the duration of the program to ensure that
the tutor can become familiar with the client's particular strengths and weaknesses.
In the event that the tutor leaves WritingCare.com before the program is complete,
the client will be assigned a new tutor. It may sometimes be necessary to have a
substitute tutor.
REGULAR WRITINGCARE ASSIGNMENTS
The writing assignment for the proceeding two weeks is displayed clearly on the
member site. It is the client's responsibility to keep track of the new assignment
for each week by visiting the web site on his or her own. The tutor of the client
is responsible for working with only the assignments listed on the WritingCare.com
web site. When the client fails to receive a critique from the tutor owing to the
late submission of the assignment(s) by the client, there will be no reimbursement
of tuition for the missing critique(s).
WRITING ASSIGNMENTS OUTSIDE OF REGULAR WRITINGCARE ASSIGNMENTS
When the client needs help with editing his or her schoolwork or with other extracurricular
writing, he or she must get approval from the tutor in advance. The tutor can replace
one regular WritingCare topic, which is equivalent to one two-week assignment, with
a topic of the client’s choosing in order to help him or her within the same format
as a regular WritingCare assignment. Normally, the tutor writes a final version
of the essay at the end of the second critique, but there will be no final version
written for outside assignments. If the tutor must use extra time beyond the regular
length of time (i.e., more than two hours), due to excessive length of the submitted
piece, there will be an additional charge at the same hourly rate that is charged
for regular tutoring. The tutor of the client is not responsible for the grades,
awards, or any outcomes resulting from this tutoring for writing assignments outside
of regular WritingCare activities.
ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION POLICY
The client is responsible for submitting his or her written assignment(s) by 6:00
p.m. on the weekly due day that is determined and notified to the client after the
registration is processed. The tutor is responsible for sending the critique and
the original assignment back to the client within 48 hours of the due day. If the
client does not submit the written assignment(s) by 6:00 p.m. on the due day, the
tutor is not responsible for writing a critique for that assignment; no reimbursement
will be given for that week.
PRIVACY POLICY
No private information on our clients will ever be released to a third party. All
communications between the tutors and the clients should occur only through the
WritingCare.com web site. The tutors and the clients cannot use their private email
addresses for their communications without written permission from the administration.
