How does the General Writing
Tutoring Program work?
This program is designed for those students who have some trouble with writing, or do not seem to enjoy it. If you do not know where to begin on an essay, if you have frequent grammatical problems, or if writing essays is just plain hard and unpleasant for you, then you should join this General Writing program.

In this program, you will finish two complete writing assignments every four weeks. In the first week, you will turn in a first draft; then your tutor will write an intensive, detailed critique designed to help you with the problems you are having.

For the second week, you rewrite the assignment according to your tutor's critique. The tutor will then read your second draft and send you any extra suggestions you might have. Your tutor also sends you the final draft that he or she revised for you. You can compare it with your second draft and learn how further you could improve your essay.

The next week, you will turn in the first draft of the next assignment, and so on. This program emphasizes the importance of easing into the writing process for those students who do not enjoy it, while also teaching them how to correct major mistakes in their writing.

If you need a lot of help with writing, this General Writing might be the right program for you. General Writing provides intensive care for each student, and the extra time spent on rewriting is time well spent.
